This is a unique event where teams of four runners contest a relay over two road legs of 3 miles and two fell legs of 2.5 miles. The format was originally designed to bring road and fell runners together in an event where they could appreciate each others skills and meet for a chip butty afterwards. The road legs are two laps of a hilly circuit. The Fell legs are a single lap of an undulating course over Saddleworth Moor.
Rochdale Harriers entered the following teams:

The results were as follows:
- Rochdale won the prize for second Mixed Team (2 ladies and 2 men), finishing in 92 min 13 sec. This was an agonising 5 seconds behind the winning Mixed Team. On the road legs, Izzie Brandon achieved the 2nd fastest lady time overall and Luke Burley the 3rd fastest man overall.
- Rochdale Men’s Team finished 7th in that category, posting 98 min 58 sec.
- Rochdale’s Veteran Men Team finished 4th in that category, posting 111 min 04 sec.
- Rochdale won the prize for second Ladies team, finishing in 111 min 07 sec. This was only 3 seconds behind the Veteran Men’s team and lead to quite a battle towards the end! Still, this was sufficient for the Ladies Team to finish second in their category.
A great afternoon was had by all, celebrating with chip butties and refreshments at the Cross Keys Public House. We have included a few pictures below.
