More good news! This week Lee Meadowcroft completed his England Athletics training to qualify as a Coaching Assistant. Lee has two sons who attend training and he has helped at our Juniors’ training sessions for over a year. He is also our Juniors’ Development Officer, providing a vital link between our Junior and Senior Sections. Our congratulations and thanks go out to Lee.
When Lee first joined our Club he had very little running experience. He enjoyed the training and camaraderie and soon his road pace increased significantly (sub-20 minute 5K), before moving to trail and fell running. In his spare time, Lee runs off-road ultramarathons and is a keen fell runner, having completed all 10 of the fell races in our Fell Champs. so far this year. He also hikes regularly and has completed over 100 Wainwrights (Lake District summits) in the past two years.
The ‘fast-track’ route for obtaining membership of our Junior Section (by helping regularly on Thursday evenings) is open to others. This is how Lee quickly obtained training places for his sons. If you are willing to help in our Junior Section please contact us through our website, selecting “something else” as the subject:
